... and so finally looked the February repertoires of my favourite Kyiv theatres.

Kyiv Operetta Theatre

Ehrm... nothing really good this month. I'm much interested in the chamber production to Offenbach's music, "A soiree with the Italians" - they perform it, as well as another chamber production, Bach's "Coffee Cantata" on a small scene in the theatre buffet - and between the tables, surely. As you may imagine, the tickets' price is really high for the evenings. I've been craving to see both of these curious productions for ages - but not this Saturday...
However, as for "The Violet of Montmartre" next Thursday - maybe, maybe... Haven't seen that one, for the production is new - so what if our operetta all of a sudden would miracuosly act and sing properly?

Opera playbill is to be found here, as usual - http://opera.com.ua/ I am seriously considering "Rigoletto" this Saturday night. You know, I'm experiencing some "live sound of opera" withdrawal syndrome. And they usually have good cast for Rigoletto (ah, baritones, baritones...) If anyone wouldn't mind my sitting on the highest gallery due to my acoustic likings - everybody's welcome to join me!

Philharmonia even has a completely translated into English playbill! At least some of our theatres managed to do that finally... This Friday they have just what I adore - a whole symphonic orchestra. Beethoven's Piano Concerto #3 and Brahms' Symphony #3 Ah! If I were sure that I'd be able to come... I should seriously consider that and try to adapt my timetable. If only I weren't given again a long and complicated case study to be written...
