...свою валізу в ліс везе Еліза"
(This is a line from Ukrainian production of 'My Fair Lady', should be sung to the melody of 'The Rain in Spain')
So... this is the second day of Sasha's packing her luggage to the long-waited fortnight in Munich. By now I've chosen and copied to my Walkman all the music I am going to need. I've also chosen the books I'm taking with me. Yeah, I'm a fan of making lists. Here they all are:
Music
Two albums of Frank Sinatra (ah, Frank...) - 'NIce 'n' Easy' and 'Songs for Young Lovers'
Frank Wildhorn - 'Rudolf, the Last Kiss' - that nice A-bootleg with Janza Kata I was talking about
Frank Wildhorn - 'Jekyll and Hyde - the complete work' (the best recording of it ever!)
Avantasia - 'The Metal Opera', both parts - nice power metal albums with inner plot.
Мельница (The Mill) - albums "Дорога сна" ('The Road of Dream') and "Перевал" ('The Pass') and some songs from "Зов крови" ('The Call of Blood')
Several Hungarian Dances by Brahms - nearly five or six, unfortunately I don't have all of them. Adore this style in classical music!
"No Fear", a nice fanmix dedicated to my favourite couple from anime 'Hellsing', Alucard and lady Integra Hellsing. A most wonderful compilation of songs. Created by this prodigious lady - http://sir-hellsing.livejournal.com/362960.html I'm sharing it for ru_hellsing community (two songs are missing, unfortunately); still its two parts are here: http://ifolder.ru/7465241
and http://ifolder.ru/7466413
Miscellaneous - mostly nice songs performed by baritone singers, though there are exceptions. This folder features:
-Everything from 'Starmania' with Bruno Pelletier
-'Ce soir on Danse a Naziland' by Garou
-Everything with Thomas Borchert from 'Dracula'
-Szabó P. Szilveszter - Útvesztő minden út
-'Schatten' from Essen recording of 'Elisabeth'
-Some songs from Mogador 'Les Miserables'
-Three songs from 'Jane Eyre' on Broadway, all performed by James Barbour
-Jenseits der Nacht - Yeah, with Uwe
-Final of the first act, 'Gier' and 'Tanzsaal' performed by Egyházi Géza from guess what musical and what recording
-'Pe o margine de lume' - Romanian song on this year Eurovision contest, I love it so much!
Books
Emily Bronte 'Wuthering Heights', paperback, Penguin Classics Edition. The only "real" book I am taking
Baroness Orczy - 'The Scarlet Pimpernel'
Andrzej Sapkowski - 'The Lady of the Lake'
Baron Olshevry Jr. - 'Vampires of Kardy Castle'
Sunset - 'Phantom Story'
Lucy Maud Montgomery - 'Anne of Green Gables' - the only e-book in this list to be in English (for other are either originally written in Russian or translated into it)
Well, now I am really feeling accomplished;)

Date: 25 Jul 2008 17:22 (UTC)I was even going to take more music, Wagner's 'Der Fliegende Hollaender' had been long considered... and finally I thought that it would be exactly like carrying coal to Newcastle.

Date: 25 Jul 2008 17:47 (UTC)I should say that this is my second or third (I even can't remember properly) reread of it. However, the last time was some three years ago, so I now can recall only the general idea and outcome.
