The trip to Salzburg took place on my seventh day - or my first Saturday - in Munich. We took advantage of those "Bayern-tickets": you pay only 29 euro and five people at the same time can travel during 24 hours all around Bayern and Western Austria. I went with Tanya from St. Petersburg, a very nice girl - and Daria from Moscow, so the expenses of each were only 10 euro - absolutely amazing, for the trip to Munich airport costs the same!
We took city maps at Hauptbahnhof and went down to the city centre. In ten minutes we found that we've already left half of the map behind us:) - Salzburg is really very small. It was raining, but in less than an hour that was over.
Our first glimpse of Salzburg

This is the fortress Hohensalzburg. As it is situated on the other bank of river Salzach and was the farthest sight from the railway station, we decided to begin with it.

The Cathedral (passed on our way to the fortress)

I should say, the city was pretty crowded - especially the main place and the place in front of the cathedral. Salzburg Festival was going on, so everywhere were scenes - for ewxample, with big screens which translated in the evening greatest performances of previous festivals.
The fortress was quite nice. Really big. And the views from its walls!.. I couldn't help taking photos standing on every place. The mountains! I adore the mountains. Those clouds, that climbing fog...

After seeing half the fortress we decided to go each on her own, meeting in the evening at the railway station. To be continued...
