Which letters do you mean? If Hungarian, than listening to the song for a million times while perusing the text does miracles. Very soon is the feeling of the language gained, and even in completely new songs one finds himself able of distinguishing a great deal of familiar words.

And as for mixing French words... I can't help it. And as long as Sapkowski does constatnly use French sayings, exclamations and interjections in his articles without making any effort to translate them for an 'unfortunate' reader in fotnotes, why shouldn't I?
